What can an average American do? Are donations the way to go?
I'm sorry for joining in so late but I am absolutely horrified at the ambush in the Oval Office yesterday. Also, for full disclaimer, I am German-American (and the American part is very recent.)
I have been up all night wondering what we can do as average people and all I could come up with was trying to use the momentum now to raise money for the Ukraine directly from all those Americans that want (part of) their tax money to go to Ukraine. I feel like it would send a strong message and maybe make an actual difference if enough Americans donated to show solidarity. Is this a silly idea?
I have a marketing background and would dedicate 2-4 hours a week to campaigning for this online. It feels like something I can realistically do. I would promote giving to https://u24.gov.ua/ because it seems the most direct and obviously trustworthy (nothing is obviously trustworthy any more, of course) way to support the Ukraine. Thoughts?
Please don't rip me apart for my naivety; it's all I could come up with overnight and this seemed like a place I could ask. I would much appreciate your constructive feedback! Thank you and my heart goes out to you!
