Can someone tell me if this idea re: crockpot chicken tikka masala makes sense?

So I discovered jars of butter chicken and tikka masala sauce at ALDI, and I was wondering if I could simply dump some chicken breast tenderloins and sauce into a crockpot and let it cook for a few hours and call it a meal.

I guess my question is…will the sauce be contaminated by touching raw chicken before it starts cooking or will the heat of the crockpot fix all of that?

Also, do I add water or broth if there isn’t enough sauce to cover all of the chicken? How much is too much extra liquid to keep the food from becoming too “soupy?”

I have a baby 2qt crock pot cooker, does this change my calculations for time and/or method of cooking?

Thanks for the help!
