no way out of this!

I am just an average-looking guy. When I travel by metro, especially, there’s this dilemma: is a girl looking at me? I do my best not to look at women so as not to make them uncomfortable.

The good thing is that I have helped some with the metro and other things. One didn’t know how to get a ticket or which station was nearest to her college, and another wanted to know which direction the metro was going. I feel so good after helping someone—it makes me feel useful.

I don’t even know how to express what I want to say. Like, if someone is looking at you, you have to look at them to confirm it, but I don’t want to look. What if we lock eyes and they think I was staring at them? That’s my worst nightmare.

Yesterday, I was in the metro, and I had a feeling that a girl was looking at me, but I had no way to confirm it. What if she was just checking whether I was staring at her? Or what if she was trying to intimidate me? There’s just no way out of this!

I could have used my phone in the meantime, but I was saving my battery because it was going to be a long journey. It felt like I was suddenly in an interrogation room.

Also, even now, a girl could be looking outside the window, but she’s sleeping with her head tilted in my direction! What if she’s looking at me with her eyes partially open?

Tell me, guys—what should I do in these kinds of situations?
