neat underground rapper i discovered

i've been listening to this old underground rapper from the 90s lately called "nas" (pronounced /nas/) and i actually think he's pretty good. he's from queens, ny, which is like this quasi-town next to manhattan which is where hip hop was invented by the New York Yankees. and his only album "lllllmatik" is all about life in queens, where everyone is poor and crack is legal i guess. it's a really good album but unfortunately he doesn't seem to have released anything after that. some say he was assassinated by the New York Mets for trying to expand a Yankees art form into queens, but I'm skeptical. either way you should check him out as he was clearly the influence on playboi carti and it's a shame nothing happened with his career, i think with time he could have been like the 39th best (black) rapper ever

the best song on that album is called "nyc of mind" and it's all about how nas is so tall he can shoot ops in a lobby full of children
